Marriage of Isabel Campbell 22/10/1921

Kerry Report 1 Oct 2008 12:52

My father married Isabel Campbell in 1921 in Carlisle Cumbria. They lived in Lindisfarne Street. Then he bigamously married my mother who didn't know he was already married, in 1926. He was an awful man and I feel Isabel was better off without him! But since finding this out I have always felt an apology was due. Far too late I know, but it was an awful thing to do and to her family I need to say 'Sorry' for my fathers discusting behaviour. Maybe there is no one left. Maybe someone is stuck on this piece of their ancestral search. I hope Isabel went on to have a better life. Like I say, she was much better off without him but it probably didn't seem like that at the time.
