Brown's from Bermuda to Luton!

My GGG Grandfather is listed in the Census as a British Subject from Bermuda....!

His name is Richard Brown (b1855) living in Luton, Bedfordshire.

I have always known that we have had foreign connections with my family from being young and thanks to various sites found out where from within minutes which was fantastic as my father and his family never knew where from.

I am at a loss though as to anything about him previous to him living & marrying in Luton. He, his wife & children seem to all disappear for the 1901 census. I know that 2 at least survived, My GG grandmother Celia Arabella Alice and William Brown. (celia is also known as Cecelia)

There is a great deal of mystery shrouding this family connection (too much to list on here)! (haha nothing to do with me gaining an inheritane, i wish lol)!

Anyway.....I do go on! What I am interested to know is surely he must not have come here on his own so who with? While he is listed as born in Bermuda he is a British Subject (not quite sure wot that means) and for want of a better phrase I know he cannot have been british ethnic...ie white..! I have photos of Celia and she is clearly of mixed race. Certain feature traits have been past down in the family hence my curiousity! My sis is British thru and thru but has affro hair! lol!

Any Help Soooooo Appreciated....
