I know this thread is an old one - but life got in the way of my research!

I am carrying on again now and am still struggling with this family unit.


Joshua William Hilton
b: 22/01/1864, Honduras St, Oldham
No Father listed
Mothers name Sarah Hilton-she registered the birth on 13/02/1864

m: 14/02/1886 to Annie Hornsby
Fathers name: Edward Hilton, a Caster

I am thinking my next step is to buy the marriage cert for Edward Bottomley and Sarah and do some more digging.

If I manage to unravel this mystery - I will update this thread.

Edward Bottomley Joshua William Hilton
Hi,

I need some help, please.
My Great Great Grandfather was Joshua William Hilton.
He was born Jan to March 1864 in Oldham, Lancs.
I know that he married Annie Horsnby on 14 Feb 1886.
They had 3 children, Lily, Edwin and Frank.

Frank married Jane Rayner(Raynor) and they had a son Frank(my Grandad) born 27 Nov 1919.

I'm trying to find some more information about Joshua William. The 1881 Census shows him as the son of Edward and Sarah Bottomley. I've found Edward Bottomley marrying Sarah Ann Heap - I don't understand where Joshua Hilton fits in.

I'd also love to hear from anyone who may have information about my Grandad's family. I've been told that he had a young sister that died, possibly called Rebecca, but I can't find any information about her or any other siblings.

All help much appreciated, thanks in advance.
