I have a john allen born 1818-1820.
How can i find if he has brothers/sisters or who his parents are.

I may have a connection with William Allen born 1813 at Edmondthorpe.

For many years I have tried to find out more about my gr gr grandfather William Allen but haven't been able to find his place and date of birth, parents, siblings or when and where he died

These are the confirmed facts I have about him

He married Frances Huddlestone (b1815 Wymondham) at St Mary de Castro church, Leicester on 24th December 1835. He is described as a labourer and their address was Burley lane , Leicester, but no other details are available.

They had a son, also called William born 10th March 1838 still living in Leicester.

Frances died in January 1841 of TB.at Wymondham. William is stated as her husband.

William appears again at his son's marriage to Mary Ann Kimberlin in Leicester described as a labourer in 1859

Where was he and his son following Frances's death?

This is where the William of Edmondthorpe may be significant,

He appears in the 1851 census living in Church Street, Scalford aged 35, described as an agricultural labourer. Born at Edmondthorpe. He is living with his wife Ann Allen aged 27 born North Luffenham aged 27, Also, there is a son, William aged 13 born in Leicester.

There is a marriage entry in the June 1847 quarter district Uppingham volume XV 1005.

This all seems to point to my gr gr grandfather and William Allen of Edmondthorpe being the same person. Hope you can verify this and hope all this will be useful to you in your family research
